Attention:  If you plan to be a Student-Athlete on an intercollegiate sport team at UND, please note that any scholarships (institutional and/or external) you are awarded are subject to NCAA rules and as such you may not be able to accept every scholarship you are offered.  All scholarships must be reported immediately to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance via email or fax.  Notification must occur no later than August 1, 2009 for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Internet scholarship search engines also provide extensive FREE scholarship information.  Some of the larger search engines include:   CollegeBoard, FastWEB, Mach25, BrokeScholar, NextStudent, and ScholarshipExperts scholarship searches.

NORTH DAKOTA BOARD OF NURSING SCHOLARSHIP-LOAN

The North Dakota Board of Nursing Scholarship-Loan Program provides financial assistance to students who have been accepted into a nursing education program approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Student recipients must be citizens of the United States as well as North Dakota residents who demonstrate financial need.

The award is considered a loan which may be converted to a scholarship through nursing employment in North Dakota after completion of the nursing program.

Student recipients must sign a promissory note for the award received. The promissory note must also be signed by a co-signer who must be approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

The interest rate is 9% per year on the unpaid balance if the recipient does not complete the nursing program or if the loan is converted to a scholarship and the employment obligation is not completed. The conversion rate is one dollar per hour of employment.

Students may receive an award of up to $1,000 per year. Undergraduate students are limited to $2,000 over a two year period.

To apply for a North Dakota Board of Nursing Scholarship-Loan students must complete the Nursing Education Loan application. The application deadline is July 1. North Dakota Scholars Program

North Dakota Indian Scholarship Program

There are many other sources of financial assistance available to UND students, such as Army ROTC scholarships, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)/Tribal Scholarship funds, North Dakota National Guard tuition waivers, Veterans Educational benefits, Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Gabriel J. Brown Trust Loan. Students should contact the appropriate agency or the Student Financial Aid Office for more information about these programs.

Graduate students may also apply for scholarships and tuition waivers at the Graduate School Office.
