Position Description: The Department of Educational Foundations and Research in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Educational Research, with an emphasis on Curriculum and Program Evaluation. The position is at the Assistant Professor level, or Associate Professor level for appropriate university teaching and publications.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities include:
• Teaching graduate courses (e.g. Curriculum and Program Evaluation, Educational Tests and Measurements, Introduction to Educational Research, and other Quantitative and mixed methods courses).
• Advising graduate students
• Developing and maintaining a research agenda
• Collaborating with educators in the field
• Serving as a research consultant to graduate students
Essential Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in Educational Research and/or Evaluation or closely related field
• Evidence of potential for research activities, including scholarly publication
• Evidence of strong collegial and interpersonal relationships
• Experience collaborating with professionals in educational settings.
Desirable Qualifications:
• College/University teaching experience
• Publication experience
• An interest in evaluation methods based on principles of social justice and democracy.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Term of Contract: Tenure track appointment is for 9 months at the Assistant Professor level or Associate Professor level. Starting date is 8/16/10. Summer teaching and continuing education opportunities are available.

Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Exercise Science and Wellness.
This is a tenure-track, 9-month appointment.
Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in sport and physical education pedagogy
and provide program leadership for graduate students in teaching and coaching education.
Also, develop research initiatives including pursuit of external funding; advise
undergraduate and graduate students; provide meaningful service to the department,
college, university and community; and foster positive relationships with physical
educators in local schools.
Qualifications: Required: Earned doctorate in physical education and exercise science specializing in
pedagogy by August, 2010; at least one year offull-time K-12 school teaching.
Applicants with ABD will also be considered.
Preferred: Strong teaching experience in higher education, including supervision of
teaching field experiences, including student teaching; involvement in professional
organizations; and evidence of scholarly productivity including presentations,
publications, and pursuit of external funding.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department:
The Department of Physical Education, Exercise Science and Wellness is one of six
departments in the College of Education and Human Development. The department has a
core faculty of 7 members. Degrees offered are the BS major in Physical Education (with
three options: teaching certification for K-12, non-teaching with an approved minor,
exercise science applications), two minors (Athletic Coaching and Health Education) and
an MS in Kinesiology. The department is committed to supporting and promoting ties
with the Wellness initiatives that are on-going at UND. This commitment includes
promotion of the philosophy that physical education teachers are front line health and
wellness promotion leaders and key advocates for lifetime participation in healthful
