Required Qualifications: Doctorate (or ABD) in Counseling Psychology or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate (or ABD) from APA-accredited Counseling Psychology, CACREP-accredited Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Psychology, or related field
  • Licensed (Psychology, Counseling, Addiction or School) or Certified (Rehab)

Position:
Assistant Professor
(anticipated)

Position: Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Exercise Science and Wellness. This is a tenure-track, 9-month appointment.

Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in sport and physical education pedagogy and provide program leadership for graduate students in sport pedagogy. Also, develop research initiatives including pursuit of external funding; advise undergraduate and graduate students; provide meaningful service to the department, college, university and community.

Qualifications: Required: Earned doctorate in physical education and exercise science specializing in pedagogy by August, 2009; at least one year of full-time K-12 school teaching. Applicants with ABD will also be considered.

Preferred: Strong teaching experience in higher education, including supervision of teaching field experiences, including student teaching; involvement in professional organizations; and evidence of scholarly productivity including presentations,
publications, and pursuit of external funding.

Salary: Starting Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department: The Department of Physical Education, Exercise Science and Wellness is one of six departments in the College of Education and Human Development. The department has a core faculty of 7 members. Degrees offered are the BS major in Physical Education (with three options: teaching certification for K-12, non-teaching with an approved minor, exercise science applications), two minors (Athletic Coaching and Health Education) and an MS in Kinesiology. The department is committed to supporting and promoting ties with the Wellness initiatives that are on-going at UND. The Department of Social Work at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a tenure track position. The Department, located within the College of Education and Human Development, offers an accredited BSW program as well as a MSW program.

Position: Assistant to Associate Professor, tenure track, nine-month contract, available for appointment August 16, 2009.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program; an earned doctorate in social work on a related field; and show evidence of scholarly achievement and contributions to the profession and community through service activities.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will posses two years of MSW professional practice experience and teaching experience in the areas of social welfare policy, human behavior in the social environment, and/or practice.

Candidates with experience in working with diverse student populations and/or who have research interests and publications in the area of diversity are especially encouraged to apply.

Duties: This faculty member will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in social welfare policy, human behavior in the social environment, and/or practice; advise students; engage in scholarly activities, including publication; serve on committees and participate in other service activities for the department, college, university, and community. Expectation that all faculty use technology to teach off-campus MSW students.

Position Description: The Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of North Dakota is seeking applicants for the position of a full-time Instructor/Advisor for the special education program area. Responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses in special education, field supervision, advising master’s level students, and participating in service activities relevant to the special education program area.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for North Dakota teaching license in special education in a minimum of three areas of disability.
  • Masters degree in special education.
  • A minimum of five years of teaching experience.
  • Organizational, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  •  Teaching experience with online courses.
  • Experience in three or more of the following areas: learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, developmental/cognitive disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and/or early childhood special education.
  • Experience with diverse populations.
  • Experience with instructional consultation, staff development, and school improvement.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a wide variety of individuals and systems. 
  • Ability to be on-campus two days a week in addition to on-campus teaching.
  • Ability to travel across North Dakota for field supervision.

Salary: $40,000-$42,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Terms of Contract: Appointment is a full-time benefitted position at the Instructor level on a 9 month basis and is non-tenure track. The position is a one year renewable contract. The starting date will be August 16, 2009.
