Position Description: The Department of Educational Foundations and Research in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Educational Research, with an emphasis on Statistics. The position is at the Assistant Professor level, or Associate Professor level for appropriate university teaching and publications.

Responsibilities include:
• Teaching graduate courses (e.g., Statistics I, Statistics II, Introduction to Educational Research, Curriculum and Program Evaluation, Educational Tests and Measurements, Advanced Research Methods).
• Advising graduate students
• Developing and maintaining a research agenda
• Collaborating with educators in the field
• Serving as a statistical consultant to graduate students Essential

Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in Educational Research or closely related field
• Teaching experience
• Evidence of potential for research activities, including scholarly publication
• Evidence of strong collegial and interpersonal relationships
• Experience collaborating with professionals in educational settings.

Desirable Qualifications:
• College/University teaching experience
• Publication experience

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Term of Contract: Tenure track appointment is for 9 months at the Assistant Professor level or Associate Professor level. Starting date is 8/16/08. Summer teaching and continuing education opportunities are available.

The Department of Educational Leadership at the University of North Dakota is a graduate¬only department in the College of Education and Human Development that enrolls approximately 200 students in five degree programs-M.Ed., M.S., Specialist Diploma, Ed.D., and Ph.D. The department has implemented an exciting and successful doctoral cohort program serving higher education and K-12 leaders in the region. The UND is a Research Intensive institution with Schools of Law and Medicine located on a beautiful campus in the fertile Red River Valley. The city of Grand Forks is a thriving community that serves as an educational and health care center for the region.

The Department of Educational Leadership is seeking a Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor in higher education with specialization in at least one of the following areas: policy, politics, finance, community college, curriculum, student affairs, or student access. Candidates will advise graduate students (masters to doctoral); conduct research and publish findings; and provide service to the profession and the educational community; additional duties assigned by the Department Chair and/or Dean. Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in a relevant discipline or an earned doctorate that will be completed by August 15, 2008; experience in higher education practice; a demonstrated record of service; and provide evidence of the capacity to establish a record of research and publications. We are particularly interested in candidates who are active in professional associations and who have experience with minority cultures, rural communities, instructional technology, grant writing and implementation, and student advisement.

The salary is negotiable depending on rank and qualifications.
