The University of North Dakota is a public, research intensive university with a current enrollment of more than 13,000 students with 3,000 Arts and Sciences majors. The Ph.D. in Anthropology is required and must be in hand by August 16. We seek an experienced individual who will teach introductory and general lower/upper division courses in cultural anthropology, including introduction to cultural anthropology, cultural dynamics, ethnographic methods, and culture area studies in his/her own area of specialization. A course load of three classes in the Fall and four classes in the Spring is expected.
We would be especially interested in an individual who is enthusiastic about being in a small undergraduate department where he/she would represent the diversity and excitement of contemporary cultural anthropology. Commitment to quality undergraduate teaching and advising is essential.

Research Fellow
Postdoctoral research fellow in Analytical Chemistry and Nanotechnology. The research will focus on development of novel nanomaterials for various bioanalyses. Candidates with a background in nanomaterial synthesis, biomolecule detection and instrumental analysis are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant is expected to be capable of performing research work and writing manuscripts. The position involves the following major duties: (1) Synthesis and characterization of novel nanomaterials; (2) Application of the nanomaterials in various bioanalyses; (3) Management and maintenance of instruments in the nanotechnology research laboratory; (4) Writing research manuscripts for publication; and (5) assisting research advisor in supervising graduate and undergraduate students in their research activities. Building on its strength of preparing graduates to lead in professional settings worldwide, a new administrative structure will facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations and enhancement of professional aspects of the bachelors and masters programs in Communication as well as the PhD in Communication and Public Discourse.

We seek a cultural anthropologist with specialization and fieldwork experience in American Indian cultures, preferably with expertise in the northern Plains. Our ideal candidate will have a broad, comparative training, employs a historically informed perspective on contemporary communities, enjoys working in a collegiate interdisciplinary setting, and is able to teach courses on ecological, medical or economic issues, as well as a general introductory course.
