The University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications and nominations for the position of CHAIR of the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology. We seek an outstanding medical scientist with a strong research record, including extramural support, and a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate, graduate and professional medical and allied health education. The candidate will be expected to complement, expand and strengthen existing areas of research in the department and may utilize the state-of-the-art imaging facilities, including a Zeiss LSM 510 META confocal system and an Hitachi 7500 TEM and 4700 field emission SEM. A new MicroPET and Cyclotron, a dedicated small animal research facility and a Genomics and Proteomics facility are available at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The applicant should possess interpersonal and leadership skills in mentoring faculty, directing students and performing administrative duties.

The Chair will oversee a department whose active research interests include neurosciences, cell and cancer biology. The department offers M.S., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D. degrees and numerous traditional anatomical courses at the graduate level, instructs first and second year medical students, and provides undergraduate courses to allied health and non-majors. Position: Postdoctoral Fellow

Postdoctoral Fellow in the Lung Biology and Gene Therapy. The ongoing research will focus on expression and regulation of Stat3 transcription factor and complement C5a receptors, C5aR/C51.2 and their roles in acute lung injury and sepsis along with other lung gene therapy projects. Candidates with a Oh.D. degree in biology related field and skilled in molecular biology and cell biology are encouraged to apply. Expertise in adrenovirus-medicated gene expression and knockdown, and epigenetic regulation of gene expression such as acetylation are requried. A number of other techniques including cell culture, western blot, molecular clonging, and immunohistochemistry are used in the laboratory. Extensively trained molecular skills and animal manipulation are a plus. The laboratory is located in a well=equipped research infrastructure of the UND medical school. The successful applicant is expected to be capable of performing research work and writing manuscript.

We seek an outstanding clinical investigator, researcher and educator to fill this newly created position. The Department of Surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible general surgeon for a full time academic position as Associate Program Director of a fully accredited general surgery residency program. Participation in undergraduate medical education is also required. Experience in graduate medical education is desirable as is an interest in clinical and/or basic science research. Expertise in plastic surgery, colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, minimally invasive surgery, trauma and critical care or surgical oncology would be an asset.

Salary and faculty rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Clinical practice facilities will be provided at MeritCare Health System in Fargo, ND, a 500 bed hospital with over 400 physicians.
