Learn to Fly
The UND Army ROTC Helicopter Flight Training Program is unique among the nation's ROTC programs. It is the only one to combine the Army ROTC curriculum with advanced helicopter training — so you can earn a college degree and your flight certifications at the same time. Depending on the program you select, you can earn your FAA private helicopter, commercial helicopter and instruments ratings, or your helicopter and instrument ìadd-onsî for the FAA ratings.
Challenge Yourself
To say the program is tough is an understatement. It is probably the most mentally challenging and emotionally draining education you will ever experience. But as you achieve each important milestone, from your first solo flight through to graduation day, you will feel a new sense of accomplishment and pride.
And Lock in a Career With Room to Grow
As a cadet in the UND Army ROTC Helicopter Flight Training Program, the credits you earn will go toward your diploma. Then, when you graduate, you'll receive a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
With more than 80 percent of the Army's aviation positions open to both men and women, you'll have opportunities for assignments with professional growth and challenging advancement, regardless of gender. And as an ROTC graduate, you will enjoy the same military career opportunities as someone graduating from West Point or OCS.
