Program Requirements
For all degrees, a program of graduate study is individually designed to meet the needs of each student.
Master of Science

Moledular and Cellular Neurobiology Research in Dr. Meberg's Lab |
Minimum requirements are a 30-credit program (including research and thesis). Other requirements include two credits of seminar and satisfactory completion of a comprehensive examination administered by the student's Advisory Committee. A 32 credit, non-thesis option is also available.
Doctor of Philosophy
The most important feature of the Ph.D. program is the performance of original research and the writing of a dissertation suitable for publication. Other requirements include four credits of seminar and two scholarly tools. The tools may be a

Dr. Vaughan's Research on Arthropod transmitted diseases |
foreign language or coursework in a supportive area such as anatomy, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, microbiology, physiology, psychology, or statistics. A minor is not required, but each student is expected to show competence in related areas as determined by the student's Advisory Committee. A written comprehensive examination is required. Work completed in a master's program may be incorporated into the doctoral program if approved by the student's Advisory Committee and the Dean of the Graduate School.
