This session will go through the steps needed to create a group for posting
from data that is in a spreadsheet or flat file. Discuss how to format the
data; transfer it to sophie (secured FTP server); define the data in the file
to PeopleSoft via the External File Layout; and how to run the process External
Files to create the group for posting.

Currently the address information is not directly connected between Student Administration
and HRMS. However, when both systems are upgraded they will improve the current
use of address types. Also, new descriptions have been prepared by the Address
Task Force for each type of address. A brief explanation of each will be provided
to each session participant. Includes questions and answer period.

Drops/Withdrawals/Refunds:

Business offices often request Records to reprocess a drop or withdrawal to get
the refund calculation to be 'correct' or to provide a petitioned refund. Presenters
will explore options to process drops or withdrawals without using backdating
in order to maintain an accurate academic record.

In this session the user will learn to use features in Excel such as Sorts,
Subtotals, Filters, Vlookup Function and Pivot Tables to analyze the data from
queries and data dumps. The PowerPoint slide above is a broad outline of the
