Research Interests

I utilize a team approach to research. My aim is to enhance research skills in interested graduate and undergraduate students as we engage in productive scholarly activities.  
• White privilege attitudes: development and validation of the White Privilege Attitudes Scale (WPAS)  
• Rural mental health and trauma treatment: training and incorporation of distance technology to serve rural populations 
• Resilience in youth exposed to trauma: development and validation of the Life Assets and Values Assessment (LAVA©).

Teaching Interests

Infusing multicultural and diversity competency issues throughout the curriculum 
• Graduate courses: Counseling Methods, Counseling Practicum, Multicultural Counseling, Career Counseling, Group Theory and Dynamics, Advanced Psychological Testing, Experiential Techniques.  
• Undergraduate course: Dialogue on US Diversity
