Counseling is an interpersonal process whereby a professionally trained counselor, in collaboration with an individual, couple or group helps foster more effective daily living and positive relationships with others.
In addition, counseling can assist with work or life adjustments, increase personal effectiveness as well as prevent or eliminate self-defeating or undesirable thoughts, behaviors or feelings.
Success in counseling requires your active participation during and between sessions.

The University Counseling Center operates on a brief counseling model, working toward a solution to your concerns in as few sessions as possible.
To maximize the availability of Center services for all students, clients may be seen for as many as 12 sessions during the academic school year. |
