RE: ANNUAL REPORTING

DATE: April 28, 2004

The University of North Dakota Strategic Plan states that each unit within the university will, "prepare annual reports to include an analysis of (1) its progress in carrying out the unit strategic plan (including the unit's progress in carrying out its responsibility for portions of the University's strategic plan), and (2) plans for the coming year." (UND Strategic Plan)

The following information is being provided for assistance as you plan preparation of your 2004 annual report:

  • Final due date for FY2004 Web-Annual Reports is October 15, 2004. However, earlier submittal dates may be established by your respective college, unit, and/or division.

  • The required Web-based report template for narrative reporting, instructions, and guidelines can be found at the Annual Report Website URL:
    http://www.und.nodak.edu/dept/datacol/annualreports/index.htm
  • Significant changes have been made to the template to promote entry of information and eliminate having to switch between template and instruction screens. You will notice the template has moved to a "cafeteria-style" format that can be used regardless of your divisional home. Also, text boxes have been added and substantial changes have made to the assessment and strategic plan sections.

  • The template continues to be designed for narrative reporting only. Tables and appendices are not compatible with the Web-based template. The template is currently "under construction" and will be available shortly.

  • Links have been added the Website to provide almost everything you might want to know about strategic and annual reporting at UND - as well as the state level. Check them out!
  • Core data can be accessed at the Annual Report Website and continues to be updated as information becomes available.

  • The Office of Institutional Research will be offering various training sessions. If interested, please contact the Office of Institutional Research at 777-4358.
