HOW DO I HIRE A SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER?
Upon receiving a request for a sign language interpreter, it becomes the responsibility of the agency or department providing the
service to make services/programs accessible to a deaf/hard of hearing person. This will include contacting, hiring and arranging
payment for the services of the interpreter. The deaf person is not involved in the business aspect of making your program/services
accessible.
- In the process of securing the interpreter be prepared to discuss:
- Rate of pay
- Brief description of situation to be interpreted
- Length of time services will be required
