Vocational Rehabilitation Services
For College Students With Disabilities
Vocational Rehabilitation or VR is a state and federally funded agency located in all fifty states. VR serves anyone,
including students, who meets the eligibility guidelines and is living in the state. The person must have a physical or
mental disability that is a barrier to employment. Students who suspect they have a disability can also apply.
Vocational Rehabilitation can assist eligible students to:
- Enroll in training programs, e.g., college or vocational/technical education by providing:
- Education related expenses not covered by other resources, such as federal financial aid.
- Equipment related to the disability needed for the student’s training program or for activities of daily living.
- Career counseling to help students decide their major.
- Achieve competitive employment by providing:
- Interview and job seeking skills training.
- Expenses related to job seeking.
