New York here we come! Congratulations to the 12 individuals who have been chosen to participate in the inaugural 2008 New York Showcase. They are: Ellery Tofte, Jesi Mullins, Joe Bussey, Louise Pinkerton, Margaret McDonale, Sam Ivory, Jared Fladeland, Anne Christopherson, Misti Koop, Nic Kaspari, Chris Harder, and Debra Berger.

Students will be traveling to New York over Spring Break to perform before New York casting directors, agents and managers in hopes of getting a foot into the tough world of show business. Job Christenson and Gaye Burgess will be co-directing the Broadway Bound Company and Marlys Murphy will accompany on piano. Brad Reissig, resident set and lighting designer for the Department of Theatre Arts at UND, has been busy with photo shoots for each participant and is also helping to market and package the program along with Mike Meyer, Advancement Officer in the College of Arts and Sciences at UND.

They have contracted Joy Dewing, a New York casting director from Dave Clemmons Casting, to work with them and act as their New York Liaison. Joy Dewing arrived in Grand Forks on November 30th to work with the Company and offer professional feedback in order to prepare them all for this once in a lifetime opportunity to strut their stuff in the Big Apple.
