Master of Education Degree (M.Ed.) for the Cohort Program

Done in cooperation with Tri-College University and delivered via the Interactive Video Network (IVN)

This is the Masters Degree program for the distance education student who wishes to complete the degree in a two year cycle. This is the Cohort program offered every two years and typically delivered to students in the western part of North Dakota.

  • EdL 502 Technology and Information Systems (2 credits)
  • EdL 511 Personal Communications and Ethics (3 credits)
  • EdL 512 Research, Measurement, and Program Evaluation (3 credits)
  • EdL 513 Curriculum, Instruction, and Learning Theory (4 credits)
  • EdL 514 Personnel, Supervision, and Staff Development (4 credits)
  • EdL 515 Education Law and the Organizational Structure of Schools (3 credits)
  • EdL 516 Policy and Educational Finance (2 credits)
  • EdL 517 Social, Cultural, Political, and Community Dimensions of Schools (4 credits)
  • EdL 997 Independent Study (2 credits)

Required core courses include practicum hours in each class.

Cognate Area (6 credits)

Six credits must be in areas outside the required Educational Administration courses and may be outside the field of Education.

A MINIMUM OF 36 SEMESTER HOURS OF COURSE WORK IS REQUIRED FOR THE M.Ed. DEGREE IN THE COHORT PROGRAM.
