Faculty Research Interests

Collaborating with colleagues is a valuable activity for many scholars. In EHD, there exists ample opportunity to collaborate within and across disciplines. You can learn more about your EHD peers by checking out the summary of Faculty Research Interests. If your interests are not represented on this chart, or if you would like to update the materials currently presented, please made additions or changes via e-mail to cl.juntunen@und.edu.

Goals Groups

All faculty members are invited to participate in faculty-led Goals Groups, designed to help faculty stay on task in meeting their scholarship goals. Whether you are an early-career or advanced member of the faculty, the collegial support and encouragement of regular meetings may be just what you need to keep your scholarly activity on track. If interested, please complete the Goals Groups Enrollment form and submit to Cindy Juntunen by September 17, 2008.

Mini-Grants

Designed to support smaller research expenses, the EHD Mini-grant program accepts applications twice a year (October 15 and February 1 or the following Monday if on a weekend), with a third offering possible in April if funds remain available. These awards of up to $500 can be used to purchase materials, provide participant incentives, or support some research-related travel expenses. For more details and application information, see the Mini-Grant Application form.

Summer Professorships

The Summer Professorship program allows faculty to work full-time on research and receive a stipend during 6 weeks of the Summer Session. The goal of the program is to increase productivity by minimizing all non-research commitments during at least part of Summer Session. The Professorship is awarded for 6 weeks and carries a stipend of $3,000. If funds are available, and at the discretion of the selection committee, faculty may request a 3-week appointment accompanied by a $1,500 stipend. Applications and additional information are available on the Summer Professorship Application.

ScholarTalk Series

Are you interested in brushing up on a specific research design? Seeking advice on working effectively with the Institutional Review Board? Or perhaps you want to have a conversation about mentoring students' research. The EHD ScholarTalk Series will periodically present 1-hour workshops, discussions, or lectures on specific topics related to research and scholarship. The schedule will be posted each semester in all departments and can also be accessed by clicking here.

Grant-seeking and Proposal-Writing Assistance

If you are looking for grant ideas and or seeking assistance with developing or editing a proposal, please set up a meeting with the Associate Dean. Several services, including developing a research team, grant-writing tips, proposal review, and funding searches, are available through the Associate Dean's office.
