Field Placement

Field Experience is considered a critical link between the theory of teaching and the practice of teaching. Through short-term placements in classrooms and educational settings, students have the opportunity to apply and demonstrate skills gained from academic course work. All teacher education programs require field experience.

Student Teaching is the culmination of teacher preparation. Through a semester-long placement, teacher candidates have the opportunity to apply and demonstrate skills gained from academic and teaching methodology course work. The College of Education and Human Development requires student teaching for graduation.
