Student Financial Aid > Combined Programs

Combined degree programs allow students to earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree in a particular discipline.  Some examples of disciplines that offer combined programs include engineering, business administration, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.

Students enrolled in combined programs are eligible for undergraduate financial aid until the point where they are formally admitted to the Graduate School.  Upon admission to the Graduate School, students are only eligible to receive graduate level financial aid.

Typically, students in combined programs are admitted to the Graduate School when they have earned at least 90 credit hours.  This does vary by program - students must check with their department to determine the point at which they apply for admission to the Graduate School.

These combined programs are often considered professional programs by their disciplines.  However, for financial aid purposes, "professional" has a very specific, limited meaning.  At UND, the only professional programs for financial aid purposes are Law and Medicine.
