CHANGES IN FINANCIAL SITUATION

Students are required to inform the Student Financial Aid Office of any additional financial resources received after completing financial aid applications.

Additional funds received that exceed the student’s eligibility for need-based financial aid may result in that aid replacing any loan funds the student has been awarded. The Student Financial Aid Office is required to replace any campus-based funds awarded with the external funding, if required to resolve the over award situation.

If the family’s financial situation has changed since completing the FAFSA or Renewal Application, the student’s financial aid eligibility may be re-evaluated. In order for this re-evaluation to occur, a letter addressing the change in financial situation should be sent to the Student Financial Aid Office after June 1 (for the upcoming academic year).

STUDENTS WHO MARRY AFTER COMPLETING THE FAFSA

Federal regulations do not allow students who marry after completing the FAFSA as a single student to complete a second FAFSA after they are married. For financial aid purposes your marital status for the current award year will remain as it was the day the FAFSA was signed.

REMINDERS

Remember to keep your address current with the University! You can update your address on the internet through CampusConnection or by contacting the Office of the Registrar at 777-2711 or 1-800-CALL UND, ext. 72711.

The student’s name and social security number or EMPL number should be included on all correspondence with the Student Financial Aid Office.
