FEDERAL STAFFORD LOAN (SUBSIDIZED)

The amount borrowed cannot exceed the cost of attendance and/or the following annual loan limits (effective 7/1/07):

• Freshman - $3,500

• Sophomore - $4,500

• Junior/Senior - $5,500

• Graduate/Professional - $8,500

A student is eligible for a new loan maximum every academic year up to the following aggregate loan limits:

• $23,000 Undergraduate

• $65,500 Graduate/Professional

An academic year at UND is defined as the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

FEDERAL UNSUBSIDIZED STAFFORD LOAN

The COMBINED amounts borrowed under the Stafford and Unsubsidized Stafford loan programs cannot exceed the following annual loan limits (effective 7/1/08):

DEPENDENT STUDENTS:

• Freshman - $5,500

• Sophomore - $6,500

• Junior/Senior - $7,500

INDEPENDENT STUDENTS (and dependent students whose parents cannot borrow a PLUS loan):

• Freshman - $9,500

• Sophomore - $10,500

• Junior/Senior - $12,500

• Graduate/Professional - $20,500

A student is eligible for a new loan maximum every academic year up to the following aggregate loan limits:

• $31,000 - Dependent, Undergraduate (no more than $23,000 of which can be subsidized)

• $57,500 - Independent, Undergraduate (no more than $23,000 of which can be subsidized)

• $138,500 - Graduate/Professional (no more than $65,500 of which can be subsidized)
