Important Dates and Deadlines

Financial aid in excess of your bill at the University will be sent to the your (the student's) UND Pride Card.  You must go to www.UNDPrideCard.com to activate the card and select how you wish to receive the refund.  If you do not activate the Pride Card and select a refund preference, a check will be issued by Higher One after 21 days  and mailed to the address UND provided to Higher One. This is the address used at the time the UND Pride Card was issued to you.

Excess funds from a parent PLUS loan will be sent to the parent.  However, these funds may also be direct-deposited to any bank account of the parent's choice.  Contact UND Student Account Services for more information.  www.und.edu/dept/studentaccounts, studentaccounts@mail.und.edu  or 701-777-3911.

Minnesota Reciprocity:

You do not have to reapply for reciprocity if you have graduated from a Minnesota High School or earned credits at UND in the previous 12 months.  If you must apply for reciprocity, you must do so through the State of Minnesota.

If you apply late for reciprocity and do not receive confirmation of eligibility by the beginning of the term, you will be required to pay non-resident tuition at the time of fee payment.

However, a refund of non-resident fees will be made if confirmation of reciprocity eligibility is presented to UND Student Account Services prior to the end of the term.

Contact the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office (800) 657-3866 or go to www.mheso.state.mn.us/ for more information

Special notes for spring or summer term transfer students:

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application if you have not already applied for financial aid for the current academic year.

If you have already applied for financial aid for the current academic year and UND was not originally listed to receive your application information:

  • Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and submit a correction to your FAFSA to add UND’s school code:  003005; or
  • You may call 1-800-4-FED-AID to request that UND be added to your application.

Financial aid awarded at your previous institution does not directly transfer to UND.  Financial aid awards may differ from school to school.  UND will send you an award letter which may include different types and amounts of aid than you received at the previous school.  You must also reapply for your student loans.

If your previous school used professional judgment to change any information on your FAFSA (i.e. adjusted gross income, untaxed income received, independent status override) you must submit a request, in writing, to UND also.  Adjustments made by another financial aid office will not automatically transfer to UND!

If you were selected for verification and completed that process at your previous school during the current academic year, you must submit documentation (i.e. income tax returns, W-2s) and complete the verification process at UND also.
