| One scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to an outstanding graduate student who has completed at least one year of graduate study in a degree program at UND. This scholarship is made possible by contributions to the UND Foundation by loyal alumni and friends. |

| Scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to currently enrolled, degree seeking graduate students. In conformance with the conditions of the grant, preference will be given to persons who graduated from a high school in North Dakota. |

| Two scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to currently enrolled, degree seeking, graduate students of high academic achievement. One scholarship will be designated for a graduate student in History. This scholarship was established by Chester Fritz in memory of Neil C. Macdonald, a former educational statesman in North Dakota |

| Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding, degree seeking, graduate students who are currently enrolled. This scholarship was established by Gale and Virginia Satrom, long time residents and leaders of the Grand Forks community. |

George and Margaret Seaworth |
| A scholarship is available for a continuing graduate student for the 2007-2008 academic year interested in the medical or social issues of gerontology. The recipient should be of good character with above average grades. This scholarship was established in honor of George and Margaret Seaworth for their important roles in the building and development of their community, state and nation. |

| How to Apply: Apply by completing the Scholarship Application Form, securing a recommendation memo from your advisor or Graduate Program Director, and submitting a statement of qualifications to the Graduate School. Students must also have an approved topic proposal filed in the Graduate School. |

Bernhardt A.E. Leser Memorial |
| This is a scholarship for a graduate student interested in studying abroad. Specifically, the money is available to any graduate student who enrolls at an institution in Germany, France, or Scandinavia and provides a record of matriculation from there. Criteria for the award shall be academic accomplishment, dedication, and promise in the field of study. This award was established through memorial gifts from family, relatives, colleagues, friends and students to honor Bernhardt A. E. Leser, a faculty member in French at the University of North Dakota from 1969-1982. |

| How to Apply: Departments must send a memo to The Graduate School nominating the student(s). |

| Note: These scholarships are cash awards subject to the availability of funds. The scholarships may be held in conjunction with other awards. |
