Master of Arts Admission
requirements for the M.A. program include:
Undergraduate preparation of at least 20 semester
credits in history with at least six credits
at the upper division level.
An overall grade point average of 3.0 (on
a scale of 4.0 for A) and at least 3.25 in all
undergraduate history courses.
A writing sample of eight to 10 pages, preferably
a research or seminar paper (submitted directly
to the Department's Director of Graduate Study).
Degree requirements for the M.A. include:
A total of 30 semester credits, including 21
in either United States or European History
and 9 in (a) a field of history not included
in the primary concentration, (b) a minor in
a related discipline, or (c) a cognate.
A research seminar, either American or European.
At least one readings course, either 593 or
594.
Historiography, counted as three credits in
the primary concentration.
A thesis, counted as six credits in the primary
concentration. |
