History Honor
Society
The International
Honor Society in History, Phi Alpha Theta,
was organized at the University of Arkansas
in 1921. Phi Alpha Theta is now composed of
chapters at accredited universities all over
the globe. Students at these universities who
have completed several history classes with
a high level of success are eligible for membership. Phi Alpha Theta is a professional organization,
with a goal of promoting interest in history
and historical research. UND's chapter promotes
history through Brown Bag speakers, historical
movie nights and trips to history conferences
such as the one in Vermilion, SD.
