The Forum
'

The Forum is the journal of the UND Honors Program. The main goal of The Forum is to encourage good writing and creative expressions by providing a quality publication that validates the importance of student contributions on campus.

The Forum staff:

The Forum has one student editor, Jessica Skroch, and an editorial board of students.

You'll find the editors and editorial board putting The Forum together with the help of our advisor, Kay Powell. We carefully read every selection that comes in and review all artwork. As a board, we decide which pieces would be best suited for The Forum. We publish in fall, winter, spring and summer -- as long as funding is available.

To submit your work for publication:

So how can YOU submit to the Forum and get your name in the spotlight? First, write or draw something--just put it on paper. Work can be from high school, a college class, or your doodling at home. We'd like to see it all, as long as it has not been published. Fill out a short release form (found at all drop-off points) and submit your work. You can fill out the release form and leave all art in Jeanne's office. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS LABELED. Poetry, fiction, memoir, and anything else you can think of can be submitted to Jeanne, OR in the bottom-center cubby next to the water cooler, OR give it to one of the editors or members of the editorial board.

We look forward to reviewing your work.

The Starcher Awards

In addition to the great feeling you get from seeing your work in print, you become eligible for three awards that are given out each year for work that has been published in The Forum. The Starcher Creative Writing Award of $200.00 will be given out for the best piece of prose, poetry, or drama that is published in our journal. The Starcher Visual Design Award of $200.00 will be given out for the best artwork published, and the Starcher Scholarly Writing Award of $200.00 will be given out for the best academic piece published. Work will be judged by professionals in each of the fields.
