 Who is it?
All of the people involved in the Honors Program are also members of
HPSO.
What
is it?
HPSO stands for Honors Program Student Organization. Our purposes are
to give strength and coherence to the operation of the Honors Program,
to facilitate student representation on the Honors Program Committee,
to encourage fellowship among Honors Program members, and to encourage
the recognition that scholarship is a primary goal of the University.
On a larger scale, we are a part of the National Collegiate Honors Council
(NCHC).
Why
is it?
Although our main objective is to enhance our educational experience,
we also do so much more. HPSO is a means through which we travel, receive
scholarships, help to form new colloquia based on our ever-changing interests,
participate in regional and national Honors Conferences, and form more
it-all-started-in-college life-long friendships. HPSO plans weekend trips
to Minneapolis and Winnipeg, an Honors Formal, coffee houses complete
with entertainment, and various service projects.
