Students in the Honors Program can use the Independent
Study option to academically explore a general
field of interest, test the waters for a potential
thesis topic, or even delve deeper into service
learning.
It can be worth anywhere from 1-3 credits,
depending on the amount of work you want to
devote to it. (Each credit should translate to
3 hours of work each week of the semester.) And
you'll need to find an instructor willing to
supervise your work. If you're interested in pursuing an Independent Study,
first visit with a member of the Honors faculty
and then submit an application to the Honors
Office.
