UND offers excellent preparation for students seeking to enter health professional schools in such areas as medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, optometry, chiropractic medicine, physician assistant, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and mortuary science.

The Pre-Health programs offered at UND in the College of Arts and Sciences set guidelines and timetables for students to successfully complete prerequisite coursework and other requirements relating to individual fields.

These programs are not majors! Students planning to complete an undergraduate degree at UND must choose a major and meet the University Graduation Requirement of 125 semester credits. These credits must include:

  1. General Education Requirements (GERs) for freshman students entering UND before Fall 2008 and transfer students entering UND before Fall 2009
    OR
Essential Studies Requirements for freshman students entering UND in the Fall of 2008 (or later) and transfer students entering UND in the Fall of 2009 (or later) and complete its requirements
  2. 36 upper divisional credits
  3. Specific requirements of a major as determined by the department responsible for that major
  4. Any prerequisite coursework for the professional school or program of their choice

The Health Sciences Advisor, Mrs. Kimberly Ruit, is available to help set up the pre-health professional program that best suits the individual goals and strengths of each student. Currently enrolled or prospective UND students may call the College of Arts and Sciences at (701) 777-2749 to set up an appointment!

If you don't see a listing for the professional school or program in which you are interested, contact Mrs. Ruit!
