Archiving your Mailbox gives you a way to save items you want to keep and save network space. Archived items are removed from your system Mailbox and stored in your personal archive directory (c:\groupwise\archive)
You can increase the security of e-mails/items by archiving them. Proxy users have no access to items archived on your hard drive unless they are using your computer.
Before you can archive items, you need to create an archive directory on your hard drive.
Follow the Procedures Below to Create Your Archive Directory in GroupWise:
From Your GroupWise Client: Main Window

Select Tools > Options. Then double-click Environment |
|
Select the File Location Tab Specify the path of your archive directory in the Archive directory box.
Recommend: c:\groupwise\archirve\ |
|
Select OK > Close

Note #1: If your system administrator has specified that items are automatically archived on a regular basis (Example: Empty trash), you may not be able to change this option.
Note #2: While in Archive, the archived message/item has no connection to the system post office. This means you cannot forward or reply to a message/item.
