Adobe Reader:  Installing Free Stand-Alone Application

Adobe Reader is a FREE program that lets you open, view, search, and print PDF files.  It is a stand-alone application in which you do not need Adobe Acrobat Professional or Standard to use it; but if you do have Adobe Acrobat Professional or Standard, it is recommended to have the same version for the Adobe Reader.

Adobe Reader is viewable and printable on any platform (multiplatform) - Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, etc.

PDF:  (Portable Document Format) is a file format that has captured all the elements of a printed document as an electronic image that you can view, navigate, print, or forward to someone else.

The easiest way to find Adobe Reader is to search for it in Google or go directly to the Adobe web page:   www.google.com or www.adobe.com

Search for “adobe reader”

After Google has completed its search:

            Select the hit of Adobe Reader Download – All versions

All versions:  this means you can download a later or newer version.

Note:  If you have Adobe Acrobat Professional or Standard on your machine; it is recommended to have the same version for the Adobe Reader.

Adobe Reader page will be displayed after making your selection:

The latest version of Adobe Reader will be displayed; You can choose a different version: Different language or operating system?

Once you click on the download button, you will be led through a few easy steps that allow you to identify your language, platform, and connection type.  Once you have completed this simple process, the software downloads and install automatically on your system.
