The Filetran - File Transfer for 3270 from the CL/Supersession Main Menu will be discontinued
as of 6/15/1998. File transfers will be performed in the following manner.
Exit Supersession
Exit to native mode in TSO
Engage the XX3270/PC3270 Upload/Download feature
Proceed the same as you had when using Wylbur.
If you are new to using the XX3270/PC3270 for file transfer use the following instructions:
Exit ISPF/PDF to native mode.
Engage the Upload by selecting the Upload button on the toolbar or selecting Send(upload) from
the Transfer menu. The following type of screen will appear. Host File Name will be the name
of your pds (partitioned data set) without the first qualifier (your five character user id) and the
new member name in parenthesis: PUBLIC.LIB(TESTA) or the name of your new sequential
data set without the first qualifier. The File Name field for your personal computer will be the
path and file name you wish to name the data set on your local drive: c:\a\testa. The Host System
button must be TSO/MUSIC. General Options ordinarily would be ASCII and CRLF. Record
Format may be any of the four listed. When selecting anything other then Default, you may want
to fill in the File Format LRECL: and BLKSIZE: to the necessary specifications for your file.
With this information filled in, press the OK button.
Whatever capabilities you had prior to TSO in your XX3270 telnet/PC3270 software you will
also have when using TSO. This would include append if it is part of your XX3270/PC3270
software.
The above Host File Name assumes you have your data set in your TSO location, if the data set is
not located in TSO but in: ie 'WYL.USR.XX.XXX.DSNAME' enclose the Host File Name in
single quotes.
You will then see a File Transfer Monitor window indicating the file transfer is complete.
Download a file:
Engage the Download by selecting the Download button on the toolbar or selecting Receive
(download) from the Transfer menu. The following type of screen will appear. Host File Name
will be the name of your pds (partitioned data set) without the first qualifier (your five character
user id) and the member name in parenthesis: PUBLIC.LIB(TESTA) or the name of your
sequential data set without the first qualifier that you wish to download. The File Name field for
your personal computer will be the path and file name you wish to name the data set on your
local drive: c:\a\testa . The Host System button must be TSO/MUSIC. General Options
ordinarily would be ASCII and CRLF. Record Format may be any of the four listed. When
