Welcome to Rename Wylbur Libraries and Sequential Data Sets

WYL.USR.XX.XXX.LIB needs to be renamed using the UND naming conventions found on page 10 of the Introduction to TSO handout.

Option 3 Utilities from the ISPF Primary Option Menu

Option 2 Data Set from the Utility Selection Panel

Enter R in the Option ===> field and in the Other Partitioned, Sequential or VSAM Data Set in the Data Set Name field (enclosed in single quotes.) enter your Wylbur partitioned data set library name: 'WYL.USR.XX.XXX.LIB'

The Rename Data Set screen will appear as below indicating the prior Data Set Name: WYL.USR.XX.XXX.LIB name. Type in: your TSO userid in the Project field, Whatever eight character or less name in Group... PRIVATE is recommended, and LIB in Type. Using the UND naming conventions would make this PDS a Data Class DCPDS and Management Class MCDFLT.

Data Set Utility Data set renamed Option ===>

The Data Set Utility screen will appear with the Data set renamed in the top right corner.

Its done!! You're ready to work in TSO ­ well at least your Wylbur PDS has been renamed. Your WYL.USR.XX.XXX.LIB no longer exists under that name but now exists in TSO with the new name you gave it.

NOW we need to uncompress all your sequential data sets. Each one must be uncompressed individually.

View your sequential data sets in Wylbur

Option 3 Utilities from the ISPF Primary Option Menu

Option 4 Dslist from the Utility Selection Panel

Enter your Wylbur Dsname Level . . . WYL.USR.XX.XXX where (XX.XXX is your 5 character userid)

Leave the Option ===> field blank to obtain the Data set information.

PRESS ENTER

Data Set List Utility Option ===> blank Display data set list P Print data set list V Display VTOC information PV Print VTOC information Enter one or both of the parameters below: Dsname Level . . . WYL.USR.XX.XXX Volume serial . .

The DSLIST panel will display showing your sequential data sets.

Type in the Command ===> Right 20 to display the record format of the data sets.

Any data sets with Recfm of U (Undefined) needs to be uncompressed before using in TSO.

Record the names of these data sets or do screen prints by using the printer icon on the tool bar.

Key in your Wylbur compressed dataset name: WYL.USR.XX.XXX.XXX

Press ENTER key to process

Enter the TSO dataset name to be created

After the dataset is uncompressed the following screen will appear.

PRESS ENTER to clear the *** message.

DONE!! Repeat for each sequential data set in Wylbur that you wish to use in TSO.
