University Archives was formally created in 1973 to preserve and house historical materials significant to the life of the University of North Dakota. These consist of 2,900 linear feet of noncurrent, unpublished records from University offices and operations, colleges, schools, and departments. Published materials in the form of journals, bulletins, reports, directories, newsletters, programs and pamphlets are also included. The Department also maintains at least one copy of each edition of The Alumni Review, as well as the student newspaper, The Dakota Student. A searchable index to The Dakota Student is also available.

The Department also houses more than 7,900 master's theses and doctoral dissertations authored at the University since 1905. To find theses and dissertations: ODIN
(All searches can be limited to UND theses and dissertations in the "By Collection" pull down menu, located on the Limiting Your Search Results page)
