ACQUISITION: This addition to the Wilson Laird Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Richard LeFever, Department of Geology of the University of North Dakota on July 20, 2001 (Acc. # 2002-2554).

ACCESS: Available for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collection.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Wilson Laird Papers contains newspaper articles from his career in North Dakota as a professor and chair of the Geology department, his leadership in the Geological Society and his accomplishments while he worked for the United States Office of the Interior. Information about the Wilson Laird Core and Sample Library includes a scrapbook, a guest book, congratulatory letters, invitations, R.S.V.P.s, speeches and various publications. Certificates that Dr. Laird received throughout his life are also included. Fifty-three photographs were separated and added to the Orin G. Libby Photograph Collection.
