ACQUISITION: These additions to the A.C. Townley Papers were deposited into the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection in 1981 (Acc.#81-733), and by Bruce Gjovig, Grand Forks, North Dakota, on August 10, 1995.
ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.
These additions to the A.C. Townley Papers consist of a 1956 Townley speech entitled “The Communist Russian New Deal Game to Bankrupt the USA.” One addition consisted of a phonograph which was separated and placed on the shelves near the Audio Tape Collection. The other addition consisted of the speech on audio cassette tape. The tape was placed in the Audio Tape Collection and given #1699.
The phonographs record Townley’s musings on the history of Communism and Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal.
