ACQUISITION: The Catholic Diocese of Fargo Publications were deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Sister Mary Ethel Paulus, Chancery Office of the Diocese of Fargo, in September 1979 (Acc.#80-633). A second addition was received in October 1983 (Acc.#83-1217). Additional material, originally placed in OGL#448, The Diocese of Fargo Publications, was also transferred to OGL #560 (Acc.#77-469).

The Catholic Diocese of Fargo Publications consists of several different periodicals by the Diocese. Published by John Shanley, Bishop of the Fargo Diocese, The Bulletin covered a wide range of topics, including the national and international activities of the Catholic Church, financial conditions, and the seminary, as well as the educational and religious concerns of the day. The holdings of The Bulletin date from 1909 and 1910.
Another included publication is Catholic Action News, dating from the 1970s. This newsletter contains world coverage of Catholic events, editorial comments on current issues and the Bishop's letter. Catholic Action News also reports on the activities of Catholic schools, churches and organizations throughout North Dakota.
