Scholarship Opportunities for High School Seniors/Incoming Freshman
4 year Army ROTC Scholarships
•Awarded to the most outstanding applicants
•Provides 100% tuition per year.
•Pays $1200 for books per year.
•Pays all lab fees (except flight fees)
•Pays $300-500 stipend per month, tax free. (Freshmen get $300, Sophomores $350, Juniors $450, Seniors $500)
•Candidates must take a medical exam - paid for by Army ROTC.
•Candidates must take the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). The APFT consistsof push-ups, sit-ups, and a 2-mile run.
•Criteria for selection: GPA, ACT/SAT, leadership potential, extracurricular activities, and personal interview.
•Students must be under 31 years of age by the time of commissioning.

Scholarship Opportunities for Juniors and Seniors
2 year Army ROTC Scholarships
• Eligible to students with 2 years of college remaining.
•Provides 100% tuition per year.
•Pays $1200 for books per year.
•Pays all lab fees (except flight fees)
•Pays $450-500 stipend per month, tax free. (Juniors$450, Seniors $500)
•Candidates must take a medical exam - paid for by Army ROTC.
•Candidates must take the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). The APFT consistsof push-ups, sit-ups, and a 2-mile run.
•Criteria for selection: GPA, ACT/SAT, leadership potential, extracurricular activities, and personal interview.
•Students must be under 31 years of age by the time of commissioning.
•2 year scholarship candidates must be willing to attend Leader's Training Course (LTC)at Ft. Knox, KY - or have prior military service.
•2 year Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty scholarships are also offered. These students sign a contract stating that they will only be selected for the Reserves or the National Guard.
•Scholarship winners normally serve 3 years active duty.

The Simultaneous Membership Program
The SMP is a volunteer officer training program that allows Army National Guard and Army Reserve enlisted members to also participate in the Advanced ROTC Program. Upon completion of Basic Training, a Reserve Component soldier who is an academic junior, can join the Advanced ROTC program and earn a commission as an officer in the United States Army while completing their college degree. In addition, contracted non-scholarship cadets and RFD scholarship cadets can join a Reserve component unit and the SMP. The intent of the SMP is to increase officer accessions into the Reserve Components by increasing ROTC enrollment from enlisted RC members who are attending college.
What is SMP to the Individual?
•An opportunity to gain a commission while going to college and to serve in a Reserve Component Unit
•Hands-on management / leadership training
•$450.00 a month for Juniors, $500.00 a month for Seniors in ROTC stipend plus E-5 pay while at drill
•Annual Training and Advanced Camp pay
•Montgomery GI Bill and tuition waiver
•An opportunity to win a 2 year RFD scholarship
•A future as an officer on Active Duty or Reserve Duty
•Opportunity for volunteer training in Airborne, Air Assault, Northern orMountain Warfare Training

3 & 2 Year Nursing Scholarships
Nursing cadets at UND compete locally and nationally for this scholarship. In addition to the financial scholarship benefits, Nursing Cadets are exposed to the professionalism of Army Nursing. Between their Junior and Senior year Nursing cadets are given the opportunity to attend Nurse Summer Training Program(NSTP) Clinical Electives for three weeks. This training provides a learning experience that integrates military skills, leadership, clinical nursing, and administrative and interpersonal skills.
•The Golden Ticket: If selected for an ROTC Nursing scholarship, Pre-Nursing Majors are automatically accepted into the UND School of Nursing if they meet the minimum requirements set by the School of Nursing.

Helicopter Flight Training Program
•The only program of its kind in the country. Earn your private and commercial helicopter license and instrument rating at the army's expense!
•Provides up to $125,000 to pay for all helicopter flight time and fees
•Combinable with other Army ROTC scholarships
•Candidates must take a Class 1a Flight physical exam - paid for by Army ROTC.
•Candidates must take the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). The APFT consists of push-ups, sit-ups, and a 2-mile run.
•Candidates must take the Army Flight Aptitude Selection Test (AFAST)
•Criteria for selection: GPA, ACT/SAT, leadership potential, extracurricular activities, and personal interview.
•Students must be able to obtain their fixed wing private pilot license at their own expense (UND Aerospace required aviation course 102)
•Students must be under 31 years of age by the time of commissioning.
•Scholarship winners are not obligated to accept the scholarship.
•Scholarship winners normally serve 6 years active duty.
