CALVARY CEMETERY

Calvary Cemetery Association has hired a new executive secretary to replace Marie Timpe who is retiring.  The new executive secretary’s name is Angie CallOffice hours for the cemetery office are:  8:30 to 11:30 Monday through Friday.  Cemetery campaign pledge cards and automatic withdrawal forms are available at the entrances of your church.  Payment envelopes are also available.  If you have any questions, please call the cemetery office at 772-7911.  Please know that you can contribute as a memorial for a loved one or in honor of special occasion.

ST. TIMOTHY FALL SUPPER

St. Timothy’s Church of Manvel is hosting their Annual Fall Dinner on Sunday, Sept. 20th .  The dinner will be served from 11:00 am.- 4:00 pm at the Senior & Community Center.  Menu includes Turkey & Dressing, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Cranberries, Polish Sausage & Sauerkraut, Coleslaw, Buns, Kolaches, & Dessert.  All homemade!

Adults - $9.00, 6-12 yrs- $5.00, Preschool $2.00 and Takeouts are available at $9.50.  Raffle for four $100 gift certificates, a Bake Sale and a Farmer Market.

MASS FOR GOD’S CHILDREN

Bishop Aquila invites all who experienced the loss of a baby before or after birth to the Mass for God’s Children on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 710 10th St. South in Fargo.

ST. MARY’S  JOB POSITION

PARISH PICNIC THIS SUNDAY

Everyone is invited the annual parish picnic at noon on Sunday, August 30th at the University Park.  The Knights will be cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs.  Everyone is asked to please bring a side dish.  Eating utensils and drinks will be at the park.  We have shelter #3 reserved.

TIME AND TALENT WEEKENDS

Once again we are having the Time and Talent Weekend on Aug. 29- 30th . It is an opportunity for all students and parish families to share the gifts that God has given them and help our Newman parish family to be a vibrant and sharing community. 

PROGRESSIVE DINNER

The Annual Progressive Dinner will be held on Tuesday, September 1st at 6:00 pm.  It begins at Christus Rex for appetizers, Salad and Main Dish ( Spaghetti) are at the Newman Center.  Dessert will take place at Wittenberg.  Everyone is invited to attend.

NEW MEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Joseph Kucera will begin a new Men’s Bible Study on Tuesday’s beginning on Sept. 8th at 7:00 – 8:30 pm in the Fireside Lounge. The study will be “Salvation History, From Adam and Eve to Today”.  For more information call or email Joseph Kucera @ joseph.kucera@und.edu or 701-610-3778.

WOMEN OF VIRTUE

The Music Ministry will meet on Sunday, September 13th at noon to discuss the music schedule for the year.

Inquiry classes begin Tuesday, Sept 15th at 7:00 PM:  Have you ever wondered what the Catholic Church teaches?  Have you ever wondered why Catholics do what they do?  Are you interested in finding out what it would mean to be Catholic?  Are you interested in becoming Catholic?
