FIDC
and Flexible Grants
The Office of Instructional
Development provides funding for faculty instructional
and professional development through both FIDC
Grants and Flexible Grants.
Faculty
eligible for grants include those teaching
full- or part-time; tenure-track
or non-tenure track; adjunct or professorial
faculty. Graduate teaching assistants may
apply for instructional materials
if they have a faculty sponsor as co-applicant.
FIDC Grants
These
grants may be used for teaching-related
travel, purchase of instructional
materials and software, minor equipment
and other non-salary expenses directly
related to teaching.
Applications
are reviewed by the Faculty
Instructional Development Committee,
which meets monthly to consider proposals
submitted
by noon on the 1st
of the month. Deadlines for 2009-2010 are here.
To apply for an FIDC grant,
refer to the appropriate guidelines on this
website:
Flexible Grants
If your project doesn't meet
FIDC grant guidelines, it may qualify for
funding through the Flexible Grant Program.
Flexible grants may be used for group meeting
or retreat expenses, outside speaker/consultant
fees, and a variety of programs and events
designed to enhance student learning.
To
apply for an Flexible Grant, refer
to these guidelines:

Final Reports
FIDC
and Flexible Grant recipients are asked to
file a final report on their grant activity
after the funds have been spent. Final reports
are generally due within six months of notification.
However, if the faculty member is applying
for another grant, the report must be filed
before the new grant proposal can be acted
on. Click here for Final
Report Guidelines.
