Student/Faculty Reading Groups

A new program supported by the Bush grant, the Student/Faculty Reading Seminars are a series of mini-seminars designed to engage students and faculty as co-learners on topics of mutual interest. Seminars are co-led by pairs of faculty from different discipline, reading with students on a topic outside their own area of expertise.

To read more about this program, follow this link to the On Teaching newsletter article that appeared in February, 2004. Or take a look at this flier that advertised a pilot seminar led by Libby Rankin and Chuck Miller this semester.

To express interest or propose a topic for a seminar, e-mail oid@und.nodak.edu by Friday, March 12. All we need at this point is an expression of interest and some ideas for possible topics. The topics themselves can be almost anything, though we will be looking for ideas that will engage students at all levels and offer an opportunity to address UND's general education goals.

We'll get back in touch with you soon to set up a meeting for those who are interested.
