Writing Across the Curriculum

The Writing Across the Curriculum program (WAC) sponsors seminars and workshops for faculty in all disciplines and serves as a clearing house for information and materials on teaching and writing.

Among activities sponsored by the WAC program are:

  • teaching-with-writing box lunch discussion groups
  • half-day workshops on such topics as critical thinking, assignment design, writing-intensive course development, responding to and evaluating student writing, etc.
  • extended summer workshops for faculty
  • faculty writing seminars
  • writing-intensive course development

WAC is also the home of the University Writing Center, which provides one-on-one assistance with writing to undergraduates, grad students, faculty, and other members of the university community.
