Petroleum Engineering Lab

Grand Forks, ND

Mission Statement

With the increase in the efficiency of current petroleum extraction processes, the PE Lab staff hopes to increase the production from previously ignored domestic regions, such as the Williston Basin, and potentially decrease America's dependency on foreign petroleum deposits. In decreasing that dependency, the American economy will be less reliant upon an energy source that is controlled by foreign powers, which should increase the stability of not only the American economy but also the country as a whole.

Our goals include increasing the efficiency of current production methods and diminishing some of the negative environmental effects that come with the use of fossil fuels.

We hope to integrate teaching with research to educate our future generations and to apply theories to solve real world problems to serve the state, the country and the world. We appreciate the generous support from our current sponsors and encourage more individuals and organizations to join our efforts in making the world a better place to live.
