Minutes of Essential Studies Committee, October 9, 2009
1. A meeting of the Essential Studies Committee was held on October 9, 2009, in Swanson Hall Room 17. Mary Coleman presided.
2. Those present at the meeting were Suzanne Anderson, Connie Borboa, Hans Broedel, Mary Coleman, Sherrie Fleshman, Judy Hall, John La Duke, Robert Lukes, Chuck Moretti, and Seinquis Slater. Guests: Roxanne Hurley, Kris Stellon, Adam Fincke.
3. Mary Coleman relayed information from Tom Steen regarding the Essential Studies Office. The office is in O’Kelly Hall, room 113. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon. The phone number is 7-4434 and Sandy Brown is the administrative secretary.
4. Roxanne Hurley and Kris Stellon presented Nursing 474 for Essential Studies Capstone and Advanced Communication credit. Hans Broedel moved to approve the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
5. Family Medicine 343 for Essential Studies Capstone and Advanced Communication credit. John La Duke moved to table the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously. Additional assessment information needed.
6. Computer Science 435 for Essential Studies Capstone credit. John La Duke moved to table the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously. Additional assessment information needed.
7. Art 112 for Essential Studies Fine Arts credit. Hans Broedel moved to table the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously. Additional assessment information needed.
