Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended (FERPA)

INCORRECT

Even though the caller is the student's parent and may be financing the student's education, in all but a very few cases, FERPA regulations prohibit universities and their employees from giving out educational information without the written consent of the student.
