Minutes of General
Education Requirements Committee
1. A meeting of the GER Committee was held on April 21 in Carnegie Hall, Room 102.
Anne Walker presided.
2. Those present at the meeting were Matt Cavalli, Birgit Hans, Joan Hawthorne, Wendelin Hume, Lana Rakow, Ty Reese, Tom Steen, Jim Mochoruk, and Anne Walker, and Connie Borboa.
3. Jim Mochoruk gave the GER committee an update on the general education task force committee. There was additional discussion on ways to get faculty more involved with general education, including college meetings, having a general education contact in each department and having a general education faculty group.

5. Anne Walker will talk to University Senate in May regarding changes to the general education requirements committee membership.
6. The committee discussed having departments submit the original general education revalidation request plus four copies and an electronic copy.
