Minutes of General Education Requirements Committee October 21, 2005

1. A meeting of the GER Committee was held on October 21 in Education 206.

Anne Walker presided.

2. Those present at the meeting were Matt Cavalli, Patrick Haertel, Lana Rakow, Tom Steen,

Anne Walker and Connie Borboa.

3. Minutes October 7, 2005. Lana Rakow moved to approve the minutes. The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Geology 105 Selected Topics-Beyond Oil: Is the Party Over? for social science and math, science and technology general education validation. Patrick Haertel moved to approve the request subject to the separation of items accessed by the rubric into education goals. The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

5. Anne Walker gave a Task Force Committee update. The Task Force was set up to look at general education assessment for higher education commission.

6. Updating the general education revalidation form. Anne Walker will send out updated form for review at our next meeting.

7. The next meeting will be November 4 in Carnegie Hall, Room 102.

8. The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
