Education Requirements Committee

A meeting of the GER Committee was held on
2. Those present at the meeting were Greg Gagnon, Devon Hansen, Joan Hawthorne, Adam Kitzes, John La Duke, Lana Rakow, Ryan Zerr and Connie Borboa.
3. Minutes March 14. Greg Gagnon moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
3. Essential Studies revalidation workshop. The workshop is April 11. Please attend if
possible. Ryan Zerr will put together a packet. Joan Hawthorne will discuss data collection.
4. Discussion on Request for Revalidation of Essential Studies Status document and the Essential Studies Committee Assessment Data form. Joan Hawthorne moved to approve the documents as amended. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
5. Update on Higher Learning Commission site visit. Joan Hawthorne reviewed the handouts regarding previous visit of HLC and general education course data collected in the past two years.
6. New ES Director position. Adam Kitzes and Lana Rakow discussed the description for this position. A copy will be sent to committee members for review at the next meeting
7. Ryan Zerr distributed an updated list of ES special emphasis classes.
8. Next meeting will be April 4.
