Minutes of General Education Requirements Committee February 3

1.      A meeting of the GER committee was held on Monday, February 3, in the Edna Twamley Room.  David Pierce presided.

 

2.      Those present at the meeting were Carl Barrentine, Connie Borboa, Mark Hoffmann, Wendelin Hume, Chuck Miller, Chuck Moretti, Dean Nichols, Lila Pedersen, David Pierce, Tom Rand and Tom Steen. 

 

3.      Minutes.  The spelling of Mark Hoffmann’s name was corrected. Tom Steen moved to approve the January 31 minutes as amended. The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

4.      Kimberly Hanson’s petition for math, science and technology GER credit was reviewed.  Tom Steen moved to approve the petition.  The motion was voted upon and carried with a vote of 7 in favor of and 3 opposed.

 

5.      Christina Haugen’s petition for arts and humanities GER credit was reviewed.  Dean Nichols moved to deny the petition.  The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

6.      Chuck Moretti presented CSD 365 for reconsideration for social science GER revalidation after receipt of the requested information and moved approval.  The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously. 

 

7.      Mark Hoffmann presented Biol 151 and Biol 151L for reconsideration for math, science, and technology GER revalidation after receipt of the requested information and moved approval of the requests.  The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

8.      Mark Hoffmann presented BADM 101 for social science GER revalidation and moved approval.  The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

9.      Carl Barrentine and Tom Steen presented Engl 221 for arts & humanities GER revalidation and moved approval.  The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

10.  The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
