Minutes of General Education Requirements Committee December 4, 2006

1. A meeting of the GER Committee was held on December 4, in Carnegie Hall room 102.

Matt Cavalli presided.

2. Those present at the meeting were Suzanne Anderson, Janet Buckmeier, Matt Cavalli, Sara Folkestad, Greg Gagnon, Birgit Hans, Joan Hawthorne, Sukhvarsh Jerath, Adam, Kitzes, John LaDuke, Lana Rakow, Ryan Zerr and Connie Borboa.

3. Minutes October 23, 2006. John LaDuke moved to approve the minutes. The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Liaison Updates: none at this time.

5. Student petition for Scott Gavett to use 16 credits of American Sign Language from Anoka-Ramsey for Arts and Humanities and World Cultures credit was reviewed. Birgit Hans moved to approve the petition for Arts and Humanities credit only. The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

6. Spring revalidation workshop will be held April 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

7. E-mail your schedule to Matt Cavalli and he will schedule a meeting time for spring semester.

8. Matt Cavalli gave an update on the General Education Task Force. There should be a document available soon for people to review.

9. Catalog and web site changes to the General Education pages were discussed but no decision was made at this time.

10. The meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
