Minutes of General Education Requirements Committee October 9, 2006

1. A meeting of the GER Committee was held on October 9, in Carnegie Hall room 102.

Matt Cavalli presided.

2. Those present at the meeting were Suzanne Anderson, Olaf Berwald, Matt Cavalli, Sara Folkestad, Greg Gagnon, Devon Hansen, Joan Hawthorne, Sukhvarsh Jerath, Adam Kitzes, Tom Steen, Ryan Zerr and Connie Borboa.

3. Minutes September 25, 2006. Greg Gagnon moved to approve the minutes. The motion was voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Tom Steen, co-chair of the General Education Task Force Committee, gave an update on the activities of the Task Force.

5. No liaison updates at this time.

6. Matt Cavalli distributed a list of frequently asked questions compiled by Joan Hawthorne. These will be reviewed at the next meeting.

7. Course Listings/Validations. Matt Cavalli will draft a proposal regarding updating general education courses annually.

8. The meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
