Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

September 23, 2010

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, September 23 in Room 305, Twamley. Kate Campbell presided. Those present were Suzanne Anderson, Kate Campbell, Paul Drechsel, Christina Fargo, Connie Gagelin, Jan Goodwin, Claire Larson, Richard Millspaugh, Jeremiah Neubert, Frances Sailer and Sandra Short.

2. Minutes April 22. Paul Dreschel moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

3. Paul Dreschel presented a course change for CSci 532 and moved
approval.  The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Paul Dreschel presented a new course ESSP 530. There was a motion to table.  It was voted upon and carried unanimously.

5. Paul Dreschel presented program change for PhD in Atmospheric Sciences and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

6. Kate Campbell presented a course change for BADM 395 and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

7. Kate Campbell presented a new course ISys 590 and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

8. Richard Millspaugh presented Hum 308 course change requests.  There was a move to table, voted upon and carried unanimously.

9. Richard Millspaugh presented Phys 211C/211CL and 212C/212CL new courses and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

10. Richard Millspaugh and Jeremiah Neubert presented Peace Studies program change.  Jeremiah Neubert moved to table.  The motion was voted on and carried unanimously.

11. Jeremiah Neubert presented HON 490 new course request. Connie Gagelin moved approval with the deletion of the last sentence of the proposed course description.  The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

12. Jeremiah Neubert presented HON 395 course change and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

13. Sandra Short presented PXW 107, 127, 147 section deletions.  Connie Gagelin moved to approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

14. Sandra Short presented Teacher Education change in program requirements request and new course T&L 572 and moved approval of both. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

15. Frances Sailer presented FMed 205, 208, 208L course changes requests.  Connie Gagelin moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

16. Jan Goodwin presented Secondary Education program changes.  Connie Gagelin and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried 7 approve and 1 opposed.

17. Meeting adjourned.
